the mLAN bus driver has not been installed properl
HELP! I purchased a PC running XP Pro SP3 to dedicate to working with my Motif Xs8. Mlan16e2 connected fine to the laptop using a PCMIA Firewire card. (everything else about the laptop is hideous).

I have a SYBA firwire 800/400/100 Ti chipset card installed and seems to be working. Whenever I try to install Mlan driver and tool set I get the following errors

1. "The Mlan bus driver has not been installed properly

If I use the Microsoft drivers for the firewire card I get this message: MlanTools Bandwidth Overflow

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

This is caused by problems with Windows SP3 using S800 firewire cards.

Install this hot fix, and it should solve your problem.

Also make sure to use Microsoft's firewire driver, not the one that ships with the card.

If all else fails, you can upgrade the driver to the Vista Version. XP complains about signing, but will install it anyway. I've had a few stability issues with it, but it did work reasonably well.

If you need a copy of the vista driver, I have a copy here
